A Short trip to Hyderabad from Bangalore

Well friends! I will share my experience of a short 3D/2N trip to Hydrabad from Bangalore.

Day 0: There are couple of trains running from Bangalore to Hyderabad. We travelled in Yeswantpur (YPR)-Gorakhpur(GKP) SF Express (Train No#16569).

Day 1:
The train started from YPR Junction at 11:40 PM and the train was not delayed and finally it reached Kacheguda station (Hyderabad) at 10:55 AM.

Front view of the Kacheguda Railway Station (Hyderabad)

After reaching Kacheguda Railway Station we booked a cab (TaxiforSure) to reach our Hotel. There were lots of auto available at the railway station. But i always prefer online Cab Services as i don't have to bergain with the auto man. I booked the hotel online from makemytrip.com. The hotel was at Abids, Hyderabad.

The hotel is very close to Kacheguda Railway Station (~2.5 Km) and any auto man should not charge more than Rs 50. And Abids, Hyderabad is the best place to stay if you are planning to visit the Hyderabad Glories in 2-3 Days.

After reaching hotel we took rest and freshen up for an hour. And we went out for lunch at 1:15 PM.
We had lunch in a Pure Vegetarain Restaurent. It was: Santosh Dhaba Exclusive. The hotel was very good wrt price and taste. After lunch we went back to hotel (~500 meters) and took rest for an hour and started our main trip to visit the Hyderabad glories.

To start to visit few places in Day 1 itself, I have booked a cab online (taxiforsure) and we went to Sri Ram Krishna Math, Hyderabad (Address: Domalguda, Hyderabad). The distance from Abids to Sri RamKrishna Math is approx. 3 Kms.

The temple was very well mantained. We were at the temple for an hour, seen all the writings on Sri Maa and also visited the Sales section.

Then again we booked a cab online (taxiforsure) and went to Lumbini Park/ Hussain Sagar Lake. The distance to Lumbbini Park from RK Math is approx. 3 Kms.

Lumbini Park is located Opposite to Secretariat New Gate, Hyderabad.

Front View of Lumbini Park Gate

We took the Gate Entry Fee, each ticket cost Rs 10. They won't allow you to take bagpack inside the park. You have to deposit your bags at the entrance.

You need approx 3-3.5 hours to enjoy the beauty of the park. The Hussian Sagar Lake is located inside the Lumbini Park.

In the mid of the Hussain Sagar Lake there is a 18 meter long Buddha Statue.

Side View of the Buddha Statue at Hussain Sagar Lake

There are multiple paid boat rides in the Hussain Sagar Lake. We were 4 in nos and we took a speed boat for Rs 400. The speed boat ride was a wonderful experience and the ride would take approx 10 mins.

We were at the park for approx 2 hours and then came out. After the speed boating at Lumbini Park one more attraction was Laser Show. The show starts at 7:15 pm and it is for 30mins. The slow was must watch for all the visitors who visited hyderabad for the first time.

I couldn't take much pics as i was enjoying the show. I would say again: "It's a much watch for everyone visiting Hyderabad for the 1st time".

After the amazing show was over we booked a cab (taxiforsure) and went to a bengali hotel for dinner which was near Sri RK Math, Domalguda. And after dinner we went to our hotel at Abids. The Day 1 trip was over.

Places we visited in Day 1:

1. Sri Ram Krishna Math
2. Lumbini Park
3. Hussain Sagar Lake

Day 2: We have planned the whole day to spend at "Ramoji Film City, The World's Largest Film City"

Ramoji Film City is approx 25 Kms from Abids. We went there by Olacabs. The driver took Rs 450 which was quite reasonable as it was quite far from the city.

We reached Ramoji Film City at 8:30 am in the morning. The ticket counter opens at 9:00 AM. There is a decent food court near the ticket counter. At 09:00 am we purchased the ticket and each ticket cost Rs 800.
At 09:00 am checked in to the Entry Gate and there was buses inside which took us into the main gate. The bus ride was included in the ticket. It took around 15 mins to get inside the 1st view point.

There were couple of attractions there. There was a grand opening that starts at 10:00 am. So it is always advisable to reach 15 mins ahead of the Grand Opening. And it is a must watch and you would miss the show if you could not reach by 10:00 am.

After the entry we visit couple of attraction among them they were Eureka, Game Zone and many more, which i couldn't recall now.

The dance was performed by a group of artist at Ramoji Film City on the occation of 26th Jan.

Those Red Color buses are used to take the visitors from one locatin to other. The bus fare come along with the ticket price. You don't have to pay any extra apart from Gaming Zone ..few rides and lunch. There are couple of choices. The quality of the food is good enough and the prices are average.

View of Eureka, the tower is situated in the 1st view point.

I took the pic while travelling from Eureka to 2nd attraction.. The architecture looks like Mysore Palace from one end and India Gate at the other end.

The shooting of 1000s of Hit Hindi, Tamil, Telegu movies was done at Ramoji Film City.

There were many many wonderful things you could see all around. It is very less to witness everyting in 9 hours. I am sorry as i couldn't recall all the places/ must see at Ramoji Film City.

Ramoji Film City at Hyderabad is a must for everyone visiting Hyderabad.
And in the end there was a Closing Ceremony at 5:30 PM but we couldn't witness because of some personal reasons. It is a must see place at Hyderabad.

And finally after watching some wonderful things, we book a cab and return to the city.

We had dinner at Grand Plaza Restaurent at Abids. We had Hydrabadi Chicken Dum Briyani. It was awesome and it cost only 170 Rs. Do visit the restaurent if you are staying close at Abids. And we returned to our hotel and we are done for Day2.

Day 3:
We get up early morning and after breakfast we book a cab (taxiforsure) checked out of the hotel. We have kept our luggages in the hotel store room and started our final day at Hyderabad.
We start at around 8:30 AM from our hotel from Abids and it took around 15 mins (~ approx 3 Kms) to reach "Charminar".

Shri Bhagyalaxmi Temple at one corner of Charminar

I couldn't recall the name of the tomb. Its a place where Nizam's family members were burried. Its approx 500 meter from Charminar

Then we walk for approx 900 meter to visit Chowmahalla Palace. It is called as Nizam's Palace.

We have seen almost everything at Chowmahalla Palace. For us it took approx 2-3 hours. From there we plan to visit Birla Temple. I tried to book a cab using my smartphone. But it was pick time and we couldn't book cab- taxiforsure / olacabs. And finally we took a auto to reach Birla Mandir. It was approx 10 Kms from Chowmahalla Palace. The auto driver after negotiation agreed to take 150 Rs.

At Birla Mandir

The top temple at Birla Mandir.

We went to the top of the temple. It is the highest point at Hyderabad. From there you can see the whole Hyderabad. But I couldn't take any pic as the Security guard is very strict and they won't allow you to take any mobile phones or any type of camera. So no way to clicking pics from the top.

Buy the time we were very tired after visiting alot of places and it was close to 4:30 pm. So we took an auto to take us to Railway Station via our hotel. The auto driver agreed for 180 Rs.

And finally we reached station on time and thetrain started at 7:30 pm and we reached Bangalore the next day at 6:30 am. Finally we ended our 3D Journey with lots of memories and also 500+ pics.
